To reserve a daycare spot:
Please contact Sarah by email to discuss your needs. After our initial conversation Sarah will send you our parent handbook and contract to read, after which you can meet us and tour the daycare space. If you would like to reserve a spot, we will meet once more to review our home daycare's policies and go over the contract together before signing it.
Your spot will be secured once you have provided Sarah with a deposit (which consists of one month's tuition which will be deposited and will go towards your child's last month of care) as well as post-dated cheques to cover tuition for the year. You will be provided with receipts in January, for all payments received that fiscal year. Before signing the contract we will need to see copies of your child's birth certificate (to verify their age) and up to date vaccination records.
If possible, we strongly recommend an introductory week or two in which your child attends for shorter periods (eg. mornings only) and as your child adjusts s/he can transition to full-day care. If your child is a baby and/or this is their first time being with a caregiver you can be assured that we have a lot of experience with accommodating and integrating babies! However, to help make their transition easier they will ideally have (or be on their way to learning) the following skills:
- can feed themselves solid food (rather than needing to be spoon fed/ eat purees)
- can go to sleep on their own (without nursing, or being held/rocked), preferably in a room with other children
- have made, or be close to making, the transition to one afternoon nap a day (our nap time is between12:30/1pm to 2:30/3pm)
